Physically, a wind speed is a height-dependent variable, which
is used to determine how strong the wind drives blades of a wind
turbine at the hub level. To predict a wind speed at a given height,
a power law equation is widely applied as the profile of the wind
speed against height [5,8,19,21]. Therefore, the application of this
empirical model in Eq. (1) is to determine the wind speed at the
hub center of a wind turbine when the wind speed at accessible
height is known.
