In all the cases, the Young’s modulus and the tensile strength of
biocomposites enhance correlated with the Alfa fiber content in
comparison with the plain matrix. These results are in agreement
with other works [12,22,38–40] in particular with the investigation
of Puglia et al. [22] for biocomposites obtained by the addition of
flax cellulose fibers (from 0 to 40 wt%) to two types of Mater-Bi
matrix (Y and Z). For both matrices, the Young’s modulus and the
tensile strength dramatically increased with the reinforcement
content, thus suggesting a high compatibility of the Mater-Bi
matrix with the natural fibers.
