As a result, the system provides a list of active channels and then highlights,
demodulates and decodes the signals that it has automatically classified. During this
period, an internal buffer prevents the loss of the signal's initial sequence. Then the
system can store all the signal parameters that were gathered automatically, along with
the operator's comments, in the COMINT interception database.
The system supports operators with a large library of modulation and code types, and
helps to determine all common forms of HF communications. Alternatively, or in the
case that the automatic classification failed due to a weak or interfered signal,
experienced operators might recognize the type of digital modulation or waveform in
the IF display or AM-demodulated audio. Furthermore, the system provides interactive
measures for investigating the signal parameters.
