I clearly remember growing up without smart phones. In those days, my friends and I talked and ran around the whole day without getting bored. My family had dinner together while watching dramas on television. Life did not seem to be that difficult without smart phones.
It is pretty weird looking at people's lifestyles these days. I didn't think humans would have come this far. We do not even look at the way we walk or talk during dinner. Actually, we keep our heads down, starring at those rectangular screens. We communicate with 'the world' but not people around us. Social media is supposed to keep people all over the world in touch, but spending too much time on the phones actually makes them 'antisocial'. Then, what is the point of social media when we hardly socialize in real life? Well, I think overusing the phones is one serious problem.
However, I agree that smart phones make our lives surprisingly convenient. They are like almost everything you ever need sitting right in your hand. They are ‘almost’ but they are not ‘everything’. They and their inventors are obviously smart but the way we use them is not. Anyway, I personally appreciate having grown up without them.
