Diagnostic imaging
Radiography
Thorax—Cardiac silhouette and pulmonary parenchyma were within normal limits.
Abdomen—Loss of detail and abdominal distention.
Ultrasound
Abdominal imaging revealed an anechoic peritoneal effusion and hypoechoic splenic nodules with largest measuring 1.7 cm. The kidneys had no remarkable abnormalities.
Echocardiography
Thickened mitral valve consistent with chronic valvular degeneration.
