Extracts derived from acclimatized aerial plant parts were more
active against Candida albicans compared to similar extracts
derived from wild plants with MIC values of 0.781 and 1.953 mg/
ml, respectively. The antimicrobial action of Pelargonium sidoides
extracts is partially attributed to the presence of coumarins and
other phenolic compounds (Kayser and Kolodziej, 1997; Colling
et al., 2010).
