A Guide to Northeast Thailand (Isan)
Northeast Thailand [ภาคอีสาน] is often referred to Isan. It is made up of 20 provinces. It has a very unique characteristic of geography, food, culture as well as traditions which have been well inherited until present. It also has the sites of ancient civilisation such as at Ban Chiang village. The economy of the region relies on the agricultural products such as rice. Isan may come across as a dry land with scorching heat but that could be something trivial as it also has abundant of stunning natural attractions and colourful way of life.
