Aqueous sodium nitroprusside at physiological pH spontaneously
generates nitric oxide (NO), which interacts with
oxygen to produce nitrite, the presence of which can be
determined by the use of Greiss reagent. Sodium nitroprusside
(5 mM) in phosphate-buffered saline was mixed
with 3 mL of different concentrations (15e500 mg/mL) of
A squamosa extracts dissolved in methanol and incubated
at 25C for 150 minutes.
