In the present research, the FECs of ascarids have been correlated to the levels of CK. Infection with the roundworm Parascaris equorum is extremely common in foals and yearlings [9]. The adult worms in the small intestine injure the mucosa and compete for nutrients. However, an understandable explanation of the association between the presence of ascarids and the increases in CK levels has still not been found because of which this enzyme has been associated with muscle injury [23].
