Since fruit wastes aggregate largely throughout the year, the utilization of these wastes forthe production of important compounds helps in the reduction of the total waste generated. Since treatment methods like incineration and landfilling produce environmental pollution, wastes have been utilized to extract value-added compounds to keep the environment clean . Several extraction methods have already been adopted for pigment extraction, most of which are energy intensive and costly. However, the solvent extraction method is comparatively economic due to direct extraction method with no external parameters and factors associated with the process. Since the series of production work in a continuous flow, the amount of waste discharge is overcome by using the byproduct of one production system as a raw substrate for the next production system in line. The collaboration with the fruit processing industry will make the pigment production from such wastes more sustainable in nature as they are the major producers of fruit waste. Therefore the present study is concentrated on the extraction method of pigments from fruit and vegetable wastes and utilization of the waste residue for metal adsorption for complete management of the waste with zero residue production.
