Cancer (CA) is a non-communicable disease that is the most leading cause of death in Thailand. Colon CA is the third-rank of all CA types that affects patients’ health. With regard to the treatment, the colostomy procedure is a type of surgery for treating colon cancer patients that diverts waste from the large intestine to the abdomen (called stoma). Colostomy procedure can either be a temporary or permanent type, but in CA colon patients is always be a permanent type. The CA patients with stoma have a great changed of their appearance and mental status, so they have to adapt themselves for living with stoma. Previous studies showed that many patients experienced being failure to adapt themselves to live well with stoma that is the cause of infection, negative emotion and death. So, we are interested in conducting the research about the influential factors on the adaptation of colostomy patients.
