Carroll says he tipped Brendan Rodgers' side to win the league before the start of the season and understands why the striking partnership of Luis Suarez and Daniel Sturridge would have limited his opportunities on Merseyside had he stayed.
Carroll's sale to Upton Park for £15m was an early, symbolic decision of the direction Rodgers wanted to take the club in, and one the striker has come to terms with.
"There is no bitterness at all, no," he said. "The way they play is incredible. They are on fire at the minute. Suárez and Sturridge up front are completely different to me.
"I said from the beginning of the season that I thought they had a great chance of winning the league. They signed Sturridge – who's a great player as well – and having played with Suarez I know what's he like. Those two together, the way they connect together, are unbelievable.
"Suárez is a great player. You've seen what he's like. He has 29 this season, he's incredible and you can't doubt that. Even after games, he wants to train when he should be resting. It is infectious.
"That is why all the players around him are performing like they are. They are the team to beat, so hopefully we can do it. I moved to West Ham and I am loving it, apart from the injury setback. Everything has been great."
Rodgers says his defenders will not be "bullied" by a formidable opponent in Carroll. Liverpool had problems in the past dealing with a combative target man, but Rodgers is adamant his centre-halves have improved at dealing with such threats.
"There's no doubt that's West Ham's strength and when you see big Andy, that is what we have to cope with. We've done it before and I'm sure we can do it again.
"What's important is you can't let someone of that ilk have a free run at it. You've got to be really intelligent as a defender."
Meanwhile, out of favour Liverpool striker Iago Aspas says he will consider his future. Liverpool would willingly sell him back to La Liga to recoup some of the £7m they paid Celta Vigo 12 months ago.
