A new series of non-redox 5-lipoxyg

A new series of non-redox 5-lipoxygenase inhibitors,
devoid of iron-chelating properties, the methoxyalkylthiazoles,
such as ICI D2138, are most potent and selective
inhibitors of 5-lipoxygenase [54]. ICI D2138 exhibits
prolonged inhibition of ex-vivo leukotriene synthesis
when administered orally to volunteers, with a half-life
of around 12 h.
