PATHOLOGICAL Diagnosis
Thyroid Mass, Left, surgical removal:
1.Follicular Carcinoma, Minimally invasive
2. Tumor size 1.1
3.Presence of capsular invasion without definite vascular invasion seen
4.Uninvolved resection margins, with nearest distance of 2 mm
5.No Extrathyroildal extension observed
6.calcification present
7.Presence of part of unremarkable parathyroid tissue
8.Presence of one reactive lymph node without metastasis (0/1)
Microscopic Examination
Sections show encapsulated thyroid mass composing mainly of micro follicles admixed with smaller amount of large follicles, They are composed of mildly enlarged cuboid cells with hyper chromatic nuclei, inconspicuous nucleoli and moderate amount of cytoplasm. Focal capsular break and invasion by the neoplastic cells in noted (Figure 1 and 2). Calcification are also observed nearby (Figure 3). All resection margins are uninvolved, with nearest distance of 2 mm. No definite vascular invasion noted. No extra thyroidal extension is present. One parathyroid and reactive lymph node are also found, without metastatic neoplasm.
