There were no significant changes in plaque index at pre and post-milk consumption and the 1 to 4 weeks post-milk consumption period. This finding reinforced the result that decreased the mutans streptococci counts in saliva as a result of powdered milk containing Lactobacillus paracasei SD1 only and is not affected by the amount of plaque deposits on the teeth.
