Hold two meetings. Do not include the student in the first meeting, but meet with all persons who regularly interact with the student. The outcome of this meeting is to reach agreement upon what specifically and measurably defines the problem and what actions all parties will take when these behaviors are encountered. Consist. of response is the most important aspect in modifying this type of behavior. Include the student in the second meeting, explaining the concerns (if possible), that the consequence of aggressive behavior will be the removal or withdrawal of the desired activity (item), and that positive behavior will result in an increase in this activity or item.
