It was in 2008 when I saw my friend taking pictures with his digital SLR, and I just thought, wow, that’s so cool!
Up until then I hadn’t ever really had any interest in photography.
Not too long after that, I got a used DSLR from my friend, and that’s when I got started.
It was right around then that my second daughter was born, so she made a great subject for photography practice.
Watching my daughters through a viewfinder made even everyday things feel like a lot of exciting little discoveries, and these photos were a big hit with my family.
Once I’d had a taste of that feeling, I was like a hunter everywhere I went, stalking my family from a step or two away with my camera poised.
It was then that I became the family’s official cameraman.
