In this paper, Cr3C2/epoxy compositematerialwas prepared by infiltration of the epoxy to porous Cr3C2 ceramic.
Themicrostructures, hardness andwear resistance of the composite materialswere investigatedwith the porous
Cr3C2 as a comparedmaterial by scanning electronmicroscope, hardness tester and pin-on-disc tribometer.Most
pores in the porous Cr3C2 ceramicwere filledwith epoxy and the density of the prepared Cr3C2/epoxy composite
was calculated to 3.27 g/cm2. The hardness of the Cr3C2/epoxy composite material was about 475.7 MPa, which
was higher than that of the porous Cr3C2 ceramic. And the Cr3C2/epoxy composite material presented excellent
wear resistance with two orders of magnitude higher wear coefficient than the porous Cr3C2 ceramic.
