into pairs and ask them to think about why the men
at the inn laughed at d’Artagnan’s horse. Then,
Student A plays the role of one of the men and
Student B the role of d’Artagnan. Student A tells
Student B why his horse is so funny, and Student B
argues with him.
After reading
3 Research: Ask students to look for information on
the Internet about the King’s musketeers at this time.
Get feedback from the whole class and compare this
with what they learn about them in Chapter 2.
