The issue concerning paining specifications was discussed with K. Pitan a few weeks ago at Jacobs’ offices. K. Pitan was proposing to use TOA Chokuku, which I did not have any objections to, but requested that the specifications be modified from epoxy base coat and top coat to epoxy base coat + polyurethane top coat to have a higher gloss finish that does not chalk with age. Discussions with TOA indicated that the cost of the two systems will be about equal. Still waiting for an official reply from TCC on the proposed thickness of each coat and confirmation that the substitution can be made without a cost impact.
