Control measure
•Acute poisons include compounds of arsenic, strychnine, phosphorous, barium carbonate- they kill rats in less than 24 hours.
•Chronic poisons include such as warfarin which is anticoagulant that needs to be ingested at intervals for a period of days or weeks. Here it should be noted that poisons are to be used with the highest precautions to prevent danger of poisoning man and other domestic animals, and use of natural enemies like cats.
