The machines we use don’t last forever. What happens when we can’t use them any longer ? Currently, most of our waste electrical and electronic equipment ( WEEE ) goes straight into landfills. All this e-waste isn’t good for the environment
Paul Bonomini used waste equipment to make the WEEE man, a 23 ft high sculpture in England, to remind us that we must make less waste.
Five fridges, 35 mobile phones, five sandwich toasters and four lawnmowers are part of the 3.3 ton sculpture. Computer mice are its teeth, vacuum cleaner tubes are its neck and an old washing machine is part of it spine. How can this sculpture change our behaviour ?
