Finally, and more generally, it is worth noting that the variables in our model are far
more effective at predicting whether employees are likely to fall into either one of the
two extreme groups of Rejectors and Committed than at predicting whether they will
belong to one of the two middle groups of Lip Service employees or Behavioural
Compliants. This is true, in particular, of the Behavioural Compliants. Thus, as can be
seen from Table 2, far fewer of the variables in the model emerged as signi cant
predictors of this group than of the three other groups in the analysis
