Recall that with no stover harvested, 13% of the land was in
a continuous corn rotation, 41% in a cornesoybean rotation,
and 46% in other crops. At a stover price of 88.19 $ Mg
1
,23of
the 25 farms (92%) harvested corn stover at some quantity. Of
the five scenarios analyzed, the new harvest technologies
scenario offered the greatest quantity of stover supplied, the
most land area harvesting stover, and the highest return to
resources from stover supply (the difference between return
to resources at 0 $ Mg
1
and return to resources at
88.19 $ Mg

). Corn stover was harvested at a rate of
2.56 Mg ha

in the new harvest technology scenario. These
results signal the importance of developing corn stover harvest technologies
