In[11,12] we proposed a new approach to reduce power consumption for Internet service providers (ISPs) and content providers (CPs). In particular, we aim at controlling the whole system composed of the ISP and the CP to find the minimal set of network resources and servers that minimize the total power consumption while satisfying the current content requests. The main finding of this work is that up to 71% of energy savings are possible when the CP and the ISP cooperate to reduce jointly the power consumption .
