Chiangkhan is a small and lovely town located in Loei Province. The town is quiet with a simple life style for the people. It is a very nice place for relaxation and to let your mind fly with the local life. Chiangkhan has been influenced by the French colonial period as evidenced by old wooden houses. The old town area is located along the Khong river. You can see some old wooden shop houses in the colonial style. Some old and important temples in this area are Sri Khun Muang temple, Mahathat temple and Tha Khaek temple. Walking on a small street on the bank of Khong river is also a great thing to do in the early morning.
