We would like to ignore about the total numbers of illegal flow of migrants or related activities in both countries, because the unrelated size of Thailand compared to Singapore would mislead to error in assumption and interpretation. Therefore we would like to point the most critical differences of illegal migrations between one in Thailand and Singapore including all economic aspects.
1. In comparison, Thailand served as inbound and outbound hub of migrant and immigrants while Singapore is more like a country that tend to receive large number of foreign worker while only sending few out of country.
2. Both legal and illegal migrants are different in Thailand and Singapore, in aspect of quantity and quality. The flow of migrants in Thailand mostly served of unskilled labor demands such as housekeeper, labor in industrial sites, construction sites. Therefore, most of migrants come from countries that is less competitive and has less job opportunities as well as poorer living condition, in contract, flow of migrants in Singapore are varies in aspect of skills, educations, incomes, and nationalities.
3. Differences in public policies as measurement to handle the situations, first of all, Singapore has exceptional measurements where they help Singaporean Authority to spot out and efficiently categorized all flow of migrants and effectively supplies to different domestic sectors, on the other hands, Thai government seem to pay lots of efforts in stopping activities at border points, and try to get foreign workforce to register to ministry of labor of Thailand.
