In general, patients listed in Table 4 as ‘low risk’,
and those who have had successful surgical repairs
(without mechanical valves) with good functional
status and systemic ventricular function pre-pregnancy,
tend to do well in pregnancy. These women
can often have shared care with local teams and
tolerate vaginal delivery with good outcome.
