A few respondents also viewed health professionals in general to be resistant to CHW use of antibiotics; however, this position had been changing as some health professionals realized the magnitude of child health issues and the need to address them at the community level. Although Kenyan policy makers demonstrated a relatively high awareness of international evidence, several respondents were cautious about the transferability of such evidence to their own setting, particularly given differences between Kenya and other countries in the region in health service coverage.
