This lesson is about how to reduce, reuse and recycle which are able to save the world from global warming.

1. The students are able to read a short passage and they also show their opinions by writing after finishing their reading.

- The students sing we've got the Whole World in Our Hands song.
(9.) Lead-in
The teacher asks the students that;
- How can you save the energy at your home?
- How can you save the environment?
(10.) Presentation
10.1 The teacher picks the authentic materials up and asks the student that
“What is this?”
10.2 The students learn the new vocabulary (Reduce, reuse and recycle)
by vocabulary’s activity.
10.3 The teacher uses Q2RD method for teaching 3R’s reading text.
Step1: Q (Question)
- When we have finished with can, Can we reuse it in any way?
- Why everybody has to protect the world from the global warming?
(11.) Practice
11.1 The students choose only one the authentic material for making groups.
11.2 Each group is given a different from paragraph so that each group reads and
learns what the paragraph is about?
11.3 Every groups present their own paragraph to their classmate.
11.4 Step2: R1 (Read)
The students receive the 3R’s reading text. Then, they read it with their partner and also do the exercise together.
11.5 Each partner presents the 3R’s exercise.
11.6 The students make a group by choosing the chocolate balls.
11.7 Step3: D (Discuss)
Every group discusses what things they can reduce, reuse, recycle. Then, gives their suggestions to the class, finally, they recommend the ways to help.
11.8 When the first group is presenting his work, the another groups have to
Evaluate. (Also the teacher evaluates the students with Teacher’s Evaluation.)
11.9 Step4: R2 (rewrite)
The students make their own mind mapping and write their opinions or their ideas about 3R.
11.10 Each person presents his mind mapping and the other evaluates
their friends. (The teacher evaluates the students by Teacher’s Evaluation.)
(12.) Production
12.1 The students look at the bold sentences and asks them that;
- “Have you ever seen these sentences?”
- “Where did you see it?”
12.2 The students discuss what command sentence is.
12.3 The teacher tells the students “Don’t forget to help our world by saving power and natural. Simple, when you clean your teeth, don’t leave the water on. Or when you go to shopping with your mother, please avoid the plastic bag.”

(14.) Optional Activity
14.1 The students do the individual homework by discussing with their family and thinking how their family uses the 3R. Write their ideas on the paper and also draw the picture about their reduction, reuse and recycling activities at their home.
