A tiny and low-power node used in this work is an inhouse
platform
compatible
with
Telos
[10].
We
called our
inhouse
platform
Unode
as shown
in
Figure
3.
Unode is
responsible
for
a
fall
detection
processing
and
the
result
transmission.
It consists of low-power TI MSP430f1611
microcontroller, Chipcon CC2420 in 2.4 GHz with in-door
80m ranges and external flash memory. MSP430f1611 is a 16bit
RISC
core
integrated
with
ADC,
SPI,
10KB
RAM
and
48KB
flash
memories.
The
advantage
of
this
microcontroller
is
its low-power
operating
modes
such
as only
1uA
in
standby
mode
and quick
respond
to wake
up
from
standby
mode
(less
than
6us).
