D is the depth to water refers to the distance ofthe unsaturated material that a contaminant needs to travelthrough to reach the water table. The depth to water likewise influences the degree of interactions between the percolating contaminant and sub-surface material. In the Kerman plain, there exists three classes for the depths of the water levels; 15 m to 23 m, 23 m to 30 m, and >30 m and mostly the depth to water in this area is greater than 30 m.
