3.1.3. Effects of reaction temperature and time
Fig. 3 plots the effects of reaction temperature and time on the G. verrucosa hydrolysis. The experiments with reaction tempera- ture (100–140 oC) and time (0–5 h) using the solid-acid catalyst were conducted under the 7.5 L/S ratio, 15% catalyst conditions. Fig. 3(A) illustrates the effects of reaction temperature and time on the formation of TRS. As is evident, over the entire reaction tem- perature range, reaction temperature had a significant effect on the hydrolysis. Also, over the entire reaction time range, the TRS con- centration was increased by increasing the reaction temperature.
