The Icelandic mackerel fishery is more or less over, and the first companies are now
already finishing their quotas for the Atlantoscandic herring as well. The catch reports
can however be somewhat delayed, and the mackerel total catch is this week upped
by 11.156 tons to 153.520 tons (against the 179.818 tons quota). The herring landings
had Friday reached 17.100 tons, up by 2.696 tons since last Friday (against the 43.925
tons Icelandic quota).
Still only limited landings for meal and oil in Norway as the pelagic fleet is now busy
with the mackerel fishing (for human consumption only). The North Sea trawlers have
however also this week landed some smaller quantities of Norway pout (about 2.100
tons) and blue whiting (900 tons).
