Landslides were identified from terrain features such asmorphology,
vegetation, and drainage conditions of the slope faces using colored,
digital aerial photographs of 0.6-m pixel resolution (Fig. 3a, and b), and
they were verified by field investigation. Historical landslide locations
(about 30-year record) were also mapped using records from the Ohio
Department of Transportation and published reports of landslides in
northeast Ohio (Gardner, 1972; Jones and Shakoor, 1989)
