One of the most important functions of the PMS is Data
Integrity Validation. This consists of a number of measures to
check that the data being used is coherent. Should
discrepancies occur, an alarm will be set and the PMS
functions which depend on this data will be suspended until
the discrepancies have been eliminated. The philosophy of
robust control ensures satisfactory operation of the power
system without the PMS. Data Integrity Validation enhances
the robustness of the PMS and thus the power system as a
whole.
