CIGS solar cell has an absorption which is more than 10
times better than for crystalline silicon. Hence, it is possible to
make a solar cell which is very thin compared to well known
silicon solar cell. Various researches have reported the impact
of the thickness of CIGS absorber layer on solar cell
performance parameters. In our simulation, CIGS layer
thickness was varied from 0.3/lm to 3/lm , where the band-gap
was kept in the optimum value at 1.3eV and all other layer
parameters were kept the same as before. The simulation
results for varying thickness of the absorber layer are given in
TABLE III .
