Having as its main objective to play the role of a vital organism, accessible both to scientists specialized in the subject of History of Education, or to professionals working with museums (historians, museum curators, teachers), and to the public of all ages, it has set its aims respectively: i) as a research and educational center, it aims at the study of (general and regional) the History of Education, drawing awareness to relevant topics in the educational
community and ii) as a cultural organization it pursues the preservation of Greek cultural heritage in the education sector (Markantonis, 1994).
