medicine for the treatment of suppurative dermatitis,
gonorrhea, favus athlete’s foot, and hyperlipemia. Many
chemical components have been reported from the hydrophobic
fraction of this plant, including anthroquinones,1-4
stilbenes,5-7 flavonoids,8 and other phenols.3
