4.1 Incoming Products
The quality of products, materials or raw materials obtained from the supplier shall be assured by
suitable protective measures. These could include incoming products inspection including
documentation of inspection results and / or delivery with conformity certificates and capability
certificates from subsuppliers. The supplier ensures an appropriate level of documentation such that
batch-related traceability back to the subsupplier is assured.
For each shipment, the Supplier shall strive to reduce the number of different manufacturing lots (datecodes)
per product. One same primary packing (e.g. reel) should not contain more than 1, exceptionally
2 manufacturing lots. No delivered date-code should be older than twelve months, starting from the
delivery date, except prior request for waiver accepted in writing by purchaser.
4.2 Production
By means of scheduled supervision and documentation of process parameters and product
characteristics, the supplier shall secure a stable and capable production sequence and thus the quality
of the products s/he manufactures. For CCs and SCs the use of SPC (statistical process control) is
planned, introduced and done. The corresponding capability indexes/documentation shall be
communicated to the purchaser if requested.
4.3 Faulty Parts
Faulty parts, which occur in the course of the supplier’s production, must be picked out, labelled and
segregated. Mixing faulty parts with acceptable parts must be excluded so that only good quality
contractual items are actually shipped out. All non-conforming products delivered to the customer are
counted in the suppliers PPM calculation even if the parts are later re-worked. In individual cases, the
purchaser may decide to accept a defective item of supply or service. The conditions of this waiver must
be dealt with separately, in writing, and in all cases, before shipping. This waiver must be approved in
writing.
