in the chain.
The demand forecasting in the apparel industry is also known as a complex process
due to the lack of historical sales data (even when it exists, data is typically unreliable)
and high impulse purchasing. Furthermore, there is no commonly used analytical
method for demand forecasting in the apparel industry. Demand is forecasted based on
the experts’ experiences. Owing to unsatisfactory forecasters and the lack of an
analytical demand forecasting method, most forecasted values are unreliable. We have
selected ANFIS for this study for the following reasons:
