Some experts believed that although children will not meet their family, but they have a communication tools to connect with their parents. Ray McGoven argued that even though the children are sent to boarding school in a young age and make them cannot meet their parents for a long time, they have a social media such as a mobile phone to connect to their family. This means that children in boarding school have a smartphones because the present and the children can communicate in several ways, such as facebook line telephone or video call. It shows that they will not feel alone because there are many children who are in boarding school. So, they can talk or consult with friends in boarding school will make them not feel lonely. Nevertheless, Talking by face to face is better than using by communication tools. Alan Teo, M.D., M.S., lead author, assistant professor of psychiatry at Oregon Health & Science University, and researcher at the VA Portland Health Care System agree that sometimes, using a communicate tools to talk with their family and friends cannot help to reduce their depression. This reveals that communicate tools cannot help to reduce symptom of homesick because communication tools will create more distant feeling and when comes talk to face to face, it will make it different. It also explains that talking face to face can reduce symptoms of depression better because it helps to talk understand more than speaking through a communication tool.
