While today we can plan a trip a 1000 km afar with just a click away, for some, seeing the world can only be an unimginable dream. with the Dream Adventures initiative, Expedia has turned the travel dreams of children with cancer into a reality. Thanks to the power of technology, the online travel site has brought the world before the eyes of four patients battling cancer at the St jude Children Research Hospital in Memphis, Tennessee. Four expedia employees used the leveraging 360-degree camera and live -streaming technology and embark on a journey -from digging dinosaur fossile and running with horses in Argentina, playing with monkeys Florida and diving in the Great Maya Reef in Mexico-to bring the children dream adventures to life on four-wall virtual reality installation at the hospital.
The 360-degree filming, projection mapping and live streaming technology were used together to allow each child to explore the locations and interact with the on -site trekkers as if they were them selves on the journeys.
