They are just southeast of Glen Brittle Forest and about two miles before you reach Glen Brittle beach itself. I’m not sure anyone really knows why they are called the Fairy Pools . They are part of a stream running off of the Cuillin mountains , full of vividly coloured pools of often almost still water which are punctuated by busy waterfalls. It’s best to visit on the day after a small rain shower, on a dry day with some cloud cover. Set at the foot of the famous Black Cuillins amidst the backdrop of the beautiful yet rugged Skye landscape are these enchanting pools. They have been carved in to the landscape through a series of pools offering a tranquil setting in the middle of a tundra.
The crystal clear water is perfect for taking a dip if you so wish – these cool waters are most refreshing You might want to bring your camera too – the sight of these pools is something that you will treasure and revisit in years to come.
