energy consumption of STRAD systems. Lam and Chan [10] investigated
the temperature distribution and air movement within an
air-conditioned gymnasium in Hong Kong. The numerical results
presented in the study indicated thatthe exhaust position had great
impact on the thermal stratification in the gymnasium and then
significantly influenced the annual cooling load of the system. Similarly,
Awad et al. [11] experimentally found that the location of
exhaust inlet influenced the interface level of the stratified layers,
which consequently affected the cooling load of air conditioning
units.
