In the three alternatives of treatment, overall decontamination factors
are higher than the ones found in the literature related to 125I removal
[9,11]. Furthermore, it is confirmed that the treatment of liquid
wastes from RIA by UF and successive passes of RO produce final values
of permeate activity suitable for discharge. This could be achieved from
waste activity values around 104 Bq/L, as it is the case of similar treatments
applied to other radioactive wastes [26].
