Fit to business, cost and support were the major selection criteria. There are quite a number of commercially available scheduling systems out there . A google search turned up over 1100 shop floor scheduling systems one time. And most ERP systems believe their shop floor scheduling functionalit will cover our requirements. In all my consulting days I’ve not seen one yet that is “best fit” in the incumbent ERP system. So that strategy must be to buy “best fit” and interface.
