Today, various rug companies are paying homage to Verner Panton's Geometi design with their own interpretations. Here are just a few of my favorites... From the Allure Collection by Dynamic Rugs comes this design. The original was two toned black and white that created a graphic positive/negative contrast, although the Dynamic rug incorporates several colors of black, grey and white/neutral. The composition of the circles and square elements are less ordered with no repeat, but yet still retain the mechanical structure that gives this design a sought after handsome appeal. From the Mirage collection of 828 International Trading Company comes this design. Another unique interpretation of the original by executing the graphic in a warm palette of brown and neutral, and scaling the recognizable elements in a large, cropped simplified approach. Lastly, the Guadalajara Rug from Missoni Home is a clever combination of design and branding. Look closely to find the letters of the word "Missoni" spelled out to create the design. In a black and white color combo, I can't help to think that there are influences of Verner Panton, and I'm sure he would have been flattered :)
