Online trust is important to a firm’s e-banking initiative. Although trust in ebanking shares many common elements with offline trust, it is different in that technology rather than just the organizational entity is an object of trust. The consequences
of breach of trust include loss of stakeholder satisfaction, loyalty and ultimately
loss of customers. We also discussed how management of financial regulations is a
necessary but challenging task, especially in an e-banking environment, and have
suggested some of the ways in which compliance issues can be managed.
