The experimental data show that the maximum effectiveness occurs at velocity 1.8 m/s for thickness 150 mm in pad 5090. On the other hand the minimum pressure drop occurs at thickness 75 mm for pad 7090 and velocity 1.8 m/s. Furthermore, the minimum evaporated water is about 0.06 liter/min for thickness 75 mm at 1.8 m/s air speed in pad 7090. Based on the results, it can be found that, for practical use a careful attention is needed for the selection of pad. It must have good heat transfer characteristics and acceptable pressure drop and water consumption. From these results, it can be concluded that when the air speed decreases and pad thickness increases, the optimum point may occur.
